This gorgeous French Empire clock was made in the early 1800s. The movement is original and has been completely overhauled and restored to great working condition. The ornately engraved and gilded brass case on its rich red velvet base is really beautiful. The velvet is a color matched replacement of the original which was very worn. The porcelain face has blue numerals. The face has hairlines and a nicely repaired chip. The engraved hands are original and richly gilded. The pinned French movement is signed with a G and it delicately strikes the hour and the half hour on a melodious silver bell. Key and pendulum are included. It measures 10 inches by 5 inches by 12.5 inches high.
